History
In 2003, Jeff Hutchison learned of the basic housing
deficiencies for many clients of Habitat for Humanity. Some families,
while waiting for their new homes, were forced to live in inadequate
housing. Since most of the homes were rentals, and not well maintained,
families were forced to live in unsafe and often unsanitary houses.
After months of prayer and research, Jeff was led to create an organization
to serve these needs. Patch was born. In July of 2005, Patch Ministries
was accepted into the Chamber Foundation of Blount County and became
a non-profit organization under Tennessee law.
